Despite what you may have been told, being single is not cry-worthy. Yeah okay, so you don’t have someone to spoon with, but let’s face it, being single is just about the best thing that can ever happen to you. If you don’t believe me, look at Samantha from Sex in the City or Ryan Gosling in Crazy Stupid Love. Being single is the f*cking best and don’t let anybody tell you different. If you’re doubting the magnificence of single life, here are just five perks of riding solo.
No bae, no problems. When you’re single, you never have to waste energy on pointless arguments with a stubborn ass. When couples around you start arguing, sit back with a drink in hand and enjoy the peace and quiet of single life. If you go solo for long enough, you’ll find yourself altogether forgetting what it’s like to bicker with someone.
2. Do What You Want, When You Want
Want to check out that new nightclub? Go. Want to hang out with your best friend this upcoming Friday? Do it. Forget about someone making you feel guilty about what you want to do and when you want to do it. When you’re single, no one can hold you back. Plus, bae-free life means you don’t have to report to anyone at the end of the night.
3. Free Time Multiplies
After a breakup, you’ll be surprised by how much free time you suddenly have. Released from all significant other responsibilities, you can spend this extra time on anything you want. Be it friends, school, work, gym….. sleeping, it’s up to you. Your options are endless, and you finally have the time to explore each and every one of them.
4. Single and ready to mingle
When you’re single, you can finally get out there and mingle without feeling bad about it. Lover-free, you can literally get to know anyone you want. That random cutie in the bar, that mysterious person in the cafe, the hottie across the hall in your apartment complex. They’re all up for grabs. Whether you’re interested in friendship or a romance, you finally have the opportunity to get to know that someone you’ve been eyeing.
5. More $$
Being in a relationship can get expensive. Think about it. You buy your significant other a gift for their birthday, your anniversary, and Valentine’s day. Plus, add on the price of date nights to restaurants, movies, bowling, and whatever else you guys are into. Without even realizing it, you’ve probably spent over $1,000 on your relationship this year. When you’re single forget about those extra gifts and expensive date nights. With more cash in your pocket, you’ll have more money to spend on yourself.
While relationships are good sometimes, being single is always a guaranteed great time. Yeah, you may not have a person to cuddle up with tonight, but at least you don’t have someone calling you a million times to ask you where you are and who you’re with.
Enjoy single life while it lasts!
